There will be a jail orientation for those interested in doing jail ministry at the Lincoln County Jail on Monday March 1st at 6:30 PM. Bring some form of ID. Background checks will be done but previous bad records will be dealt with on a case by case basis. Several of the folks that are doing jail ministry now have previous criminal records.

Quinn and Melinda Collins attended the Jail Ministry orientation in the Lincoln County Jail. After completing this orientation, they are now qualified to begin ministry in the jail. Congratulations on this step in serving The Lord.

The jail ministry is going well in Lincolnton. It seems that The Lord always provides enough volunteers each week to meet the needs of the inmates. The Lord is changing hearts through this ministry and I feel certain that this is helping to prepare these folks for staying consistent in The Lord when they get out and helping break the cycle of crime that they are in. Please pray for this ministry and if you feel led to look into volunteering let me know and I will get you in touch with someone that can get you started in the Charlotte or Union County area. Ernie

A new ministry may be getting off the ground at Banks. Ernie Lamb recently began going to Jail on Sunday mornings. The purpose is to provide a church service to inmates that would not have an opportunity for one otherwise. This ministry is done by members of several churches in the area and gives inmates an opportunity to worship in a group setting. Several others at Banks have already expressed an interest in getting involved and hopefully this will grow and become another way that members of Banks can make a difference for Christ.
