One of our core beliefs is that every member is to be in ministry. By “ministry” we mean the multitude of ways God can redemptively touch another human being through us in the name of Jesus. This could include things such as praying with someone in a grocery store parking lot, giving a grieving person a hug after church, leading a co-worker in prayer to accept Christ, or visiting the sick and shut-in.
We also give sacrificially to missions. Our mission support is both local and global; both “helping” and evangelistic missions.
Here are the missions we are committed to supporting at this time:
EPC missionaries to Muslim people in Southeast Asia with a goal of planting a Christian church.
Oscar and Leonor Barrientos. Oscar and Leonor are a Honduran pastor and wife planting a church in Yoro, Honduras. A number of us have traveled to Honduras to minister with them over the years.
Tom and Ann Harvey. Tom and Ann are missionaries with World Evangelization for Christ (WEC). Specifically they lead “Rainbows of Hope,” that part of WEC that works with children in crisis internationally.
Susan Williams. Susan is a missionary with JAARS, the support mission of Wycliffe Bible Translators, located in Waxhaw. Susan is also a member of our congregation.
Melinda Collins. Melinda is the editor and publisher of Nine Media, an online ministry directed at teenage girls. She and her husband Quinn are members of our congregation. As part of Nine Media, Melinda also publishes Nine Magazine. http://ninemagazine.org/
